Like many other people, I was introduced to the world-wind that is Tiffany Haddish in 2017 with her role as Dina on Girl’s Trip. I fell in love with her even before I saw the actual movie as I watched many of her interviews during the promotional tour for example on Jimmy Kimmel, Ellen and The Breakfast Club😍❤.
As Tiffany herself says, she is “an energy producer.” She has a vibe, a spirit, a presence that cannot be denied, she lights up a room and this has made her such a joy to watch on the big screen! So, when I heard she was writing a book, The Last Black Unicorn, I just had to get a copy 🙂 😛
I decided to read this book around the end of my semester at school about a month before final exams. I wanted to read a book that could brighten up my day or make me laugh whenever I took a break from studying and thought what better than some Tiffany Haddish stories.
I surely was not disappointed 😀
This was a well written, engaging and humorous book. I really felt that I was reading it and hearing her voice like we were having a conversation especially when she told the story about “The Ex-husband”. 👀😢
I remember sometime ago, my mother while commenting on one of those Dateline NBC mysteries said that some stories are so fantastic that they just cannot be made up. That is how I feel about this book. Who really could make this up? For instance, the story about how Tiffany became a pimp and ended up pimping out the girl her boyfriend was cheating on her with! WOW!!!!!!! I mean, what can you even say about that? 😮
But, amidst all the jokes and incredible stories that makeup this memoir the underlying theme was one of a woman who was determined to succeed. No matter how many times her back was against the wall, how many times she hit rock bottom, how many people discouraged her, how many times she bombed at an event, she kept at it. She picked herself up and tried again. Tiffany Haddish is a woman of strength and perseverance, with an extraordinary will to succeed. Comedy is not only her passion, but her gift to the world💖🌹. As she said herself in the book:
“I believe my purpose is to bring joy to people, to make them laugh, and to share my story to help them. To show people that no matter what, they matter, and they can succeed.“ Tiffany Haddish
This is another great addition to your reading list. It is easy to read, funny and absorbing. Have you read this book already? What did you think of it?
PS. This book is available on Amazon for US$11.89 (Hardcover)
Much Love

This is on my read list. She shares some of the same stories on her Breakfast Club interview. Kevin Hart’s book was also excellent. When reading it I could hear his voice lol

I’ve been living underneath a rock for the past two years, in a place that never even mentioned her. So I had to consult with YouTube, and I totally see what you mean. She’s one of those people who just naturally get a kick out of being alive.
